Occasional Cuisine was formed in 1986 by Penny Ide-Smith to offer high class catering for private and business clients.
Penny Ide-Smith has over 20 years experience in the catering industry.
While training at Tante Marie Cordon Blue catering college, Penny worked in pub and restaurant kitchens to gain experience. Once she had qualified, Penny moved to Eton and catered for a house of Masters.
From Eton, Penny moved to London where she worked catering for director's dining rooms at Bank Julius Baer, Morgan Stanley, Kansallis-Osake-PanKki, Standard Chartered Bank and Deutsche Bank in the city.
During this time Penny also started catering for private clients at weekends, this became more and more popular as her reputation grew, finally allowing her to make the decision to start her own business.
The company grew and in 1995 took over the old Dairy buildings at Binton Farm. After substantial renovation and conversion of the buildings, Occasional Cuisine moved into their new kitchens in 1996
Occasional Cuisine now has a team of friendly and helpful staff in both the kitchens and the office who can help their clients with their requirements and provide their guests with superior food and excellent service.
